Sourcegear Vault - source control tool

This is a great Visual Sourcesafe replacement.

 

+ uses SQL Server/MSDE for data storage (no crazy files called aaaaaaa etc)

+ client part looks and works just like Sourcesafe - which you might be used to

+ works over HTTP (webservice. No problems to connect from just about any computer connected to the Internet, meaning it's easy to share code between your work and home)

+ FREE (for single user)

 

Even if you are working alone, it's a great way to keep your sourcecode accessible from multiple locations, keep track of versions and having a single location to backup.

 

This is a must have!

 

- my client hangs after a while if being inactive when working from home (ADSL)

Might just be a configuration somewhere, but I can handle it
